Yes, I was supposed to be working on the Beach Play mercat, I even got it inked. But while taking some time to sort my studio clutter, I came across this interesting little precut mat board. So I grabbed it when I headed out to Cafe Brazil for lunch. I sketched [...] I can’t believe I stayed up till after 2am working on this. But I was just so excited about the dryad sketch that it just begged to be. This one isn’t for sale online just yet, because it is being shipped to Visioncon in a few days along with a few other brand new works. It is a 5×7″ pen and ink on Bristol Board. These are the 3 fun stamps based on my artwork that came out today at Queen Kat Designs. We have a fairy cat, a kitty with a cup of tea and the frozen dragon. I am also very excited that I now have enough stamp designs at QKD that I have my own [...] This is my next project. It has been inked and I still need to erase the pencil lines. Next is to decide on colors. I finished this last night. But before I could crawl into bed another fairy cat crawled out of my head and onto paper. This is why I can’t sleep anymore. At 2am every night some fairy cat or mercat demands to exist and I have to at least get it [...] Well here we are at step 2. I have transferred the design to 5×7 inch watercolor paper and inked it with my Rapidograph technical pens. Next is to apply the watercolor paints. I am not sure if it is the sketching or adding color that is my favorite part. Well here we are at the beginning of another new idea. I am thinking 5×7″ watercolor. Well it is done. I have it currently on etsy, but I am thinking that I might send it to Loscon if it doesn’t sell before I ship in a few days. |
