 | This is a detail of the inking for Purrfect Pearl. At this point,I have drawn this image 3 times. First the original pencil sketch,then used a pencil and light table to transfer it to watercolor paper,then inked that and erased the pencil lines. [...] Day 5 and 5 paintings. Ankle hurts and it is hard to prop it up while at the computer. So I will try and be more chatty tomorrow. And here we have the second painting in my painting a day challenge. Today was all sorts of crazy with it being my daughter’s tenth birthday celebration. Handmade cupcakes due to milk allergies,so all sorts of crazy. And still I remembered to walk nearly 2 miles and get my daily painting done. Okay [...] This little fairy cat is spent. He has obviously had a hard day chasing dust bunnies and has settled himself down for a nice long nap –and don’t you dare think of disturbing him. For this week’s illustration Friday theme of “spent”I decided to pull out this previously painted fairy cat for [...] I have been falling in love with stamping. I still consider myself a newbie at it,but the wonderful ways you can use stamps is fascinating me. So I have decided to combine my new love of stamping with my old passion for sketchbooks. Here is the start of my new sketchbook and art [...] I have been busy. Lots of late nights sketching,inking and painting. Every moment seems to be spent creating. I take my daughter to swim classes and I draw,I take her to the pool,and I ink,sitting in a restaurant with my watercolors while waiting for dinner to arrive. Really at some [...] And here we have my latest mercat painting. I really like how velvety the night sky turned out in this one. And of course that tail is shiny. This is what I worked on between panels (and during panels) at A-Kon this weekend. I am so very happy with the results. I did a lot more detail than is usual for me and lots of layers of colors to get them to be so very vibrant. It was soothing to work on [...] Still adjusting to this whole Linux thing. I think I like it,but some of my existing hardware doesn’t. Poor James is having to walk me through scanning every time,cause it doesn’t always recognize the scanner. And considering I want to scan things at 1am,it isn’t making for a happy husband. Anyway,[...] |    | |||
