 | Yes,I was supposed to be working on the Beach Play mercat,I even got it inked. But while taking some time to sort my studio clutter,I came across this interesting little precut mat board. So I grabbed it when I headed out to Cafe Brazil for lunch. I sketched and inked it [...] I was busy over the weekend. I felt like I was mostly running around and putting out fires. Probably because Saturday featured going to visit my grandfather and trying to get his computer up and running and then drilling my college age son about having all necessary school supplies and keeping organized. And Sunday was [...] My latest watercolor. It took a lot longer than most of my paintings of this size (5 inch square),but I enjoyed working on it and it turned out beautiful. It was inspired by my love of steam punk and girl genius. You might also have noted that I haven’t been posting links to [...] Well,I am once again trying my hand at digital art. I am not sure what to do with this now that I have done it. I might use it as part of a fabric design. Maybe put it up on cafepress or zazzle. I am not real thrilled with the digital scan of this painting since the cat is really more of a purple and the color variations are more obvious in the original painting than this shows. The tail is a dark purple and blue with a slight shimmer. The yellow borders of [...] Well here we have my next project. I really like the framing of the image. I used to do the hand drawn and painted frames a lot during my college days and I return to the idea from time to time. I like how it makes this whimsical little piece of art look a [...] I can’t believe I stayed up till after 2am working on this. But I was just so excited about the dryad sketch that it just begged to be. Somewhere in the secrete depths of the wilderness a dryad moderates a meeting between a goblin and other fae. [...] I am not sure about you,but when I see a piece of art that I like,one of the thoughts that goes through my mind is “Where did the artist get that idea?”. When I look at my own art a few weeks after it is finished,I am not sure where the idea [...] Well here we have my latest drawing from my sketchbook. I went ahead and inked it in the sketchbook to make it easier to use my light box to transfer it to watercolor paper. Some cropping will happen,since it is going to be a 5×5″watercolor painting.
