I have been going through some of my old work that is saved on the computer for creating coloring books with. And it has me reflecting on how much my art has changed over the years.
In highschool I did photorealistic puppies and kittens and the occassional portrait with prismacolor on matboard. In college I started out doing fantasy work like dragons and fairies then evolved to these illuminated like images based on Norse Mythos and Runes.
After getting that art degree I stopped drawing and painting completely for 3 years. Instead I made crazy quilts and crocheted motifs for them. Then Istarted designing embroidery patterns for my crazy quilts and discovered that I really wanted to draw again. That corresponded with me taking up belly dance,so I did a lot of belly dance drawings. Then I started on mandalas, which sold pretty well on ebay and started my whole career selling art.
But from there I have done cubist paintings, folk art kitties and now am back to fantasy art. Today I am having an urge to draw a cute big eyed chibi like Cthullu with a sparkly background or maybe a shiny jewel in the center of his forehead like a Manga Magical Girl.
Really I need to finish my acrylic painting of the fairy cats,or the hand colored print of the fairy or maybe get the rest of the coloring books photographed and listed on etsy. But I had to go watch a partial episode of Calls 4 Cthulhu and now I want to draw him all sugary sweet.
Or maybe I should get those drawings matted and shipped to ApolloCon or take the note cards by Shambalha. Really this magpie muse seems to have me jumping all over the place

You certainly aren’t alone in this!! It reminds me a bit of Barbara Sher’s book “Refuse to Choose”which is all about scanners and how they have so many interests and things pulling at them. I can relate!
